2023 Away Schedule (Several Home Games Included!)

Even though it wasn't a year of glory for ND, at least we weren't awful.  Anywho, just like year's past, City Boy was lucky enough to attend a few games and even better, Country Girl came with.  She even attended her first home game where we pounded the Trojans and their incredibly overrated QB.  Suck it, SC.

The Rabbit Box - Pike Place Market

After visiting the incredibly amazing and impossibly delicious Hellenika in the Market, we stopped by Rabbit Box on a whim for happy hour.  It was an excellent decision as the food far exceeded expectations.  They apparently also have live music regularly, so there's that too.  Absolutely, positively go to Hellenika though.  Truly out of this world stuff.

Squatters Brew Pub - Salt Lake City

We made a trip to Country Girl's hometown to take part in a celebration for the birthdays of both her mom and America.  Holy shit did the flu kick my ass during the trip.  Before that though, we enjoyed a couple of pints at this lovely brew pub in SLC.  Lovely service and impressive selection.  Highly recommend.

Flint Creek Cattle Co. - Greenwood

We stopped in Greenwood to give Flint Creek Cattle Co. a go over the summer as City Boy had read some favorable reviews.  Super spacious place with two floors of seating and loads of natural light made for a very inviting environment.  The service was attentive and the food was pretty good.  City Boy is pretty nice with steaks at home so it really takes a lot to move the needle when getting steaks out.

The D - 2023

Huge surprise, we went back to City Boy's hometown for more bad Tigers baseball.  Wonderful weather, great to spend time with friends and the Tigers managed to win more than expected.  While we unfortunately didn't make it to the Detroit Institute of Art this time, it was a lovely visit.  See you next year!

London, Milan, Lake Como, Luzern

And just like that, we're back!  No doubt huge sighs of relief from both of our loyal readers.

Anywho,  we enjoyed a lovely holiday taking in London and a small slice of Western Europe this past February.  It was Country Girl's first visit to each destination and second for City Boy (London aside), who did a bit of a test run last year.  Happy to report it was a smashing success.

Every destination was amazing in its own way, food was largely good with some absolutely spectacular meals along the way and, surprisingly, the weather was almost perfect.  No precipitation the entire trip and only a couple of days without sunshine.  Not what City Boy expected for a February holiday in the northern hemisphere.

Layover in Boston
While the highlights are too numerous to cover without writing a novel, have to give a couple special shouts out.  One to City Boy's London based colleague who kindly took time out of her incredibly busy life to hang out and provided expert eat/see/do suggestions.  Another to our gracious and kind friends in Lucerne.  Holy shit, Fasnacht (Carnival) in Lucerne is quite the party.  Big ups to the front desk staff at Hotel Lucerne (Autograph Collection) for the above and beyond service and insider eat/see/do suggestions, especially this tremendous park overlooking the harbour and downtown.
