The Lodge - Greenwood

We tried checking out a Canadian bar in Greenwood for din din on a recent evening.  Unfortunately the kitchen was closed that day so we gave The Lodge, half a block away, a shot.  While they had an extensive tap list, it suffered from the same heavy case of the IPA/pale ale-itis that's typically of many Emerald City establishments.  Despite that, the service was very lovely and the food entirely decent.  Spacious with an interesting decor along with fabulous fixtures in the bathrooms.  The prices prevent it from being much of a value so we'll likely not return.  Not bad for a one and done, however.

Birthdays!

As both our loyal readers know, summer time is birthday time at the Ranch.  It's always a festive occasion with banners, hats and baked goods as both KS and KW celebrate their respective big days during the summer.  While their getting older is a cause of some concern for City Boy, both days were joyous affairs.

Lake Wenatchee Camping '19

Country Girl, the Ranch Dogs and City Boy all made it back to Lake Wenatchee this summer for another camping extravaganza.  We enjoyed lovely weather most days with sunny days, little wind and not too much bother from mozzies.  Country Girl's camp cooking skilz are still proper and we were also fortunate to enjoy camp fires this time as well.  The last two trips coincided with burn bans so our good luck this trip was very well enjoyed.  Rain did greet us on the last morning, which made packing up camp a bit of ordeal.  Still a brilliant trip all in all and we'll def stay an additional night next time.

The D - 2019

Country Girl was sweet enough to come home with me once more.  Had a great time with family and friends.  Pleased to report we watched mostly not as terrible as expected Tigers baseball.  Found a couple more new, fun spots and even made it over to Windsor this time.  Pleasant weather the whole time was quite the bow.  Until next year.

Georgetown Bites

Deep on the south end of town is the Georgetown neighborhood.  I stumbled across an advert for a local food festival of sorts, Georgetown Bites, so away we went.  So yeah, mad far and mad good eats!  Country Girl and I were both super impressed.  So much so, we trekked back a few weeks later to try the chicken place, Sisters and Brothers, again.  Neat neighborhood well worth the drive and already looking forward to next year's festival.

Kuaui

So, Kauai happened over the winter.  Yep, it was pretty fantastic.  Stories about jaw dropping natural beauty totally checked out.  Highly recommend and hope to visit again.
